Dr Ron Dodzro

Dr Ron Dodzro is an award-winning clinical psychologist specialising in trauma, PTSD, and the psychological impact of community and gang violence. He is co-founder and director of Psychologists The Streets Deserve (PTSD CIC), an organisation dedicated to delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive support in communities disproportionately affected by violence and inequality.

 

He sits on the UK Trauma Council, the board of the Association of Child Protection Professionals and the steering group of the Male Psychology Section of the British Psychological Society. Dr Ron's work spans clinical practice, consultancy, research, and public engagement. He supports young people, families, and professionals across education, youth justice, and community organisations, applying ecological and systemic frameworks to understand how trauma operates beyond the individual.

 

His interests focus on the lived experiences of young people affected by community violence, with publications and conference presentations exploring trauma, identity, and survival in high-risk environments. He contributes to higher education as a guest lecturer in trauma, PTSD, and leadership, and has been featured in various publications for his work in making psychology accessible to communities that have historically been underserved by mainstream mental health provision.

Dr Ron’s expertise in PTSD brings an important clinical perspective to our work with survivors of spiritual and cultic abuse. As a Black male specialist, he also brings representation to a field where culturally informed support remains difficult for many people to access. His insight will help us challenge those gaps and strengthen how survivors are understood and supported.
