About SUUK

Surviving Universal UK is an ambitious, forward-thinking, grassroots organisation taking a multi-agency approach to tackling cultic and spiritual abuse.

Our work spans frontline advocacy and direct support for people affected, specialist training for professionals, public education, survivor-led research, and campaigning for institutional and legislative change.

We work directly with individuals and families impacted by high-control environments, while also equipping schools, safeguarding professionals, and public institutions to respond more effectively to hidden and emerging forms of abuse.

We support people from all backgrounds and communities. However, we hold specialist expertise in addressing cultic and spiritual abuse within Black communities and across the Global Majority, where these harms are often misunderstood, minimised, or missed entirely by mainstream safeguarding frameworks.

Grounded in lived experience and professional insight, Surviving Universal UK exists to expose harm, close safeguarding gaps, and drive systemic change so that survivors are believed, protected, and supported to rebuild their lives.

Our ethos is:

Accountability is Not Persecution®

We are here to expose harm, stand with survivors, and fight for safer futures — together.
